Dobbie ("we", "our", or "the app") is a dog care tracking application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Dobbie.

Information We Collect

Account Information

• Email address (used for account creation and login)
• Display name (optional, chosen by you)

Dog Information

• Dog name, breed, birthday, and weight
• Dog photos (if you choose to upload them)

Activity Data

• Activity logs you create (walks, feeds, bathroom breaks, sleep, play, and custom activities)
• Timestamps of logged activities
• Reminder schedules you set

Automatically Collected

• Device identifiers for push notification delivery (if you grant permission)

How We Use Your Information

• App functionality: Storing your activity logs, displaying insights, managing reminders, and enabling household sharing
• AI features: Your dog's activity data is summarised and sent to our server-side AI service to generate personalised insights and chat responses. We use OpenAI's API for this purpose. Your data is sent via our secure Supabase Edge Function — it is never sent directly from your device to OpenAI.
• Notifications: Sending local reminders and smart notifications based on your dog's routine

Third-Party Services

• Supabase: Database hosting, user authentication, and serverless functions. Your data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure. Supabase Privacy Policy
• OpenAI: Powers AI Chat and AI Insights features (server-side only — your data is processed through our Edge Function, not sent directly from your device). OpenAI Privacy Policy
• Apple: Sign in with Apple for authentication, App Store for subscription management

Data Storage

Your data is stored securely on Supabase's cloud infrastructure with row-level security policies. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's Keychain (managed by the Supabase SDK). Some preferences are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults.

Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account (available in Settings > Account > Delete Account), all your data is permanently deleted, including your profile, dogs, activity logs, reminders, and chat history.

Your Rights

• Access: You can view all your data within the app
• Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings
• Portability: Contact us to request a copy of your data

What We Do NOT Do

• We do not track you across other apps or websites
• We do not sell your data to third parties
• We do not use your data for advertising
• We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs

Children's Privacy

Dobbie is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by updating the date at the top of this page.
